I was under the impression that each live had it's own earth (back to the fuse box), so there are no earth points as such..... ???

I could of course be talking out my a*se as I regularly have a memory like a Goldfish !

Earths are in different places. There's a bundle of them going from above the passenger footwell to a point on the chassis, for example.

The battery -ve is well connected to the chassis, so the chassis is a good earth.

While servicing mine the other day I found a large earth tag containing about 5 earth wires on the chassis rail opposite the rear of the n/s/f wheel and one on the front rail on the o/s/f

probs:-
Air con cuts out after 15 mins use.
Indicators dont always work but come back to life when the hazard is applied.
Wipers dont always work but come back to life when hazard is applied.

As I said...

The control units use the rear earthing points. The dash stuff uses the front ones in the cabin. I would look at the controllers first. Worth checking the connectors on the control units are not burnt out as well.
