Replacing thermostat and changing coolant 2021?
Discussion
Running in traffic yesterday my engine decided to run super hot, perhaps because I've had the original cats refitted for it's new MOT, so I think it's time to replace the thermostat and change the coolant and wondered if anyone who's done this recently has a live link to the low temperature thermostat that one can use to replace the original?
From reading this thread and this thread I think it's a QTH134K thermostat that I need but there is a note on the page for the very expensive RaceTech one saying to not use after market Fiat ones?
Also I have lots of Porsche recommended blue coolant in my shed so can use that if works?
Thanks for any tips in advance

On my car I ended up fitting Racetech Direct’s alloy housing that has a regular thermostat inside it. It was pricey but I was going round in circles trying to figure out the correct OEM part and also find a decent quality one.
Pleased with the Racetech one as it allows different thermostats to be fitted. They can supply with either a 82 or 74degC ‘stat. Think I took the hot one.
For the coolant I used Millers Alpine antifreeze BT blue. At the time it was cheaper on Amazon (supplied by Opie) rather than direct from Opie even with a discount. I went this route due to lockdown and wasn’t too keen on going out. It was £22/5 litres
Hope that helps.

I have this on my ebay watch list. It is the 85C stat. but the original shape. I think you have to be careful that the flow directions are correct.

I bought one from this guy two years ago - no complaints at allhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323791715800
Sorry - just realised, I might have bought it as a spare rather than fitted it - I simply can't remember (and I can't find it)
