Do you think it's a good idea to buy privare just wondering about fitting I've been told they can be a pig to align.

Bought mine private, and yes there a bitch to align. Then you get it just right and look 2 weeks later and they've moved...

have to re-align, again!!!

I found them much easier to fit than it was to remove the standard box. The alignment isn't a difficult job, just time consuming to get it just right.

Give ACT a ring, they are in the TVRCC Sprint magazine.

You traitor kevin

My advice is to not buy the ebay ones, they look like the non-adjustable hanger versions, they're a pain to fit and the pipe parts don't appear to be very high quality stainless as they're already rusting in the pic.

the 4.2 versions have 1/8th inch smaller pipes than the 4.5 and sp6 too, so they only fit 4.2s unless you sleeve the intermediate pipes.

at 150 pounds they're already 100 pounds too expensive imo.

I would thoroughly recommend ACT, my rear pipes arrived promptly, they fit the body cutouts far better than the standard rear box ( that always looked pi**ed after the "dealer" had a go at it )and they sound great !

The old box didn`t want to part company with the centre pipes, so I took a grinder to them and split the pipe longways from the joints. (I can`t see how the "dealer" had it off less than 3000 miles ago !!)

Setting and adjusting the two new pipes took a little time, but it`s not a hard job.

Just the new water pipes to do now, hate to think what I will find under the front cover !!

Excuse me, but that is absolute bollox. I have a 99 4.5 that has been fitted with a 4.2 exhaust - how do I know? Because I tried to fit 4.5 decat pipes which are exactly the same diameter but 1.5 inches shorter. apparently this was quite common at the time because Blackpool would fit what they had in stock.

I've had a decade of specialising in cerberas .. i think i might know what pipes fit what!

at that age both the 4.2 and 4.5 use the same cat length.

the decat pipes are all the same diameter, but the next pipework and the inlet pipes into the rear box ARE 1/8th inch different.

If you don't believe me why do JP make two sets of pipe diameters.

muppet.

Steve,
£275 + vat and carriage for the pair.

don`t know what size they are... I simply asked for a set of rear pipes for a `99 4.5 ...

they arrived......

I fitted them !!

( the hangers are ajustable so you can fiddle with them `till they fit the body)

In that case I bow to your superior knowledge.

But I do know what didn't fit on mine too

Shall I be Waldorf to your Stadler then?
