mounting a Tom Tom Go?

Hi,

OK, so I got a new toy ... my nice new Tom Tom Go arrived yesterday :D but now I need to figure out how to mount it in the Cerbie :scratchchin:

So was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas when fixing theirs? Would love to know where ya put it and how you mounted it (think the screen mounting bracket is going to completely block the windscreen if I use it!)

I mount mine on the windscreen of the Chim... sits as low as I can get it, and in the centre of the car.

Cigarette lighter is in the door on the Chim, so I push the cable between the dash bits and have no issues.

I also have the extra antenna, and that squeezes into the dash and moves to the passenger side.

I'm having exactly the same issue. The windscreen mount is fine on a 'normal' car, but on the Cerb is seems to take up almost all of the forward vision, especially if you've already got a Snooper or RoadAngel mounted on the dash top.
I've bought a second windscreen mount so I can move the TomTom between cars without disturbing the wiring every time. I've removed the actual TomTom mount (with the electrical gubbins) from the suction/swivel part, and stuck some Velcro on the bottom. Now I can mount the display either just above the radio (in front of the recess below the dash top) or in the cubby hole behind the gear lever.
Each position has advantages. The top position is in line of sight, the lower one is shaded so you get less screen glare. On balance, the top position is probably best. Wherever you put it, you may as well turn off the voice prompts. If you've got a sport exhaust, you won't hear a single instruction anyway

I've tried a few alternatives as well...

1) By the drivers door, on the windscreen just in front of the A pillar
2) To the left of the rear view mirror

Both are a bit quirky, but work. Guess on the Cerb you could fix it in the cubby hole behind the gear lever and get the extra antenna...

Have you had to stick some velcro to the leather above the radio for this to attach to?

I guess you have to use an external arial for this, or does it somehow manage to still find the satelights?
