Cerbera clutch update
Discussion
Some may feel that with the recent events with Jason Ben, that this is bad timing....if so, then tough.
People like Jason are few and far between, and do stuff for others, purely because they want to.
So, for those that are interested, here's a quick update on the clutch development story.
As you all probably know, I eventually got the clutch back after a very long wait, basically the guys worked non stop on it, and had to turn away a lot of business, and lost money, simply because they quoted me a price, and stuck to it.
I fitted it to the car, with no problems, and everthing went great, it was fitted in less than 4 hrs, with engine running.....even though I'm laying on my back under the car on axle stands!
Then came the stopper, sadly it won't clear fully, and was dragging, even with the master cylinder push-rod adjusted fully out, to give it it's maximum travel. I even got a new master from TVR Power, to be sure it wasn't that......to be honest I'm still thinking of fitting something up to the job, but maybe, that's something for another day.
No Furball 5000 for me, which I am still really pissed off about.
So, out it came again, and the latest is that the clutch is on my garage floor once more.
I have had a new spacer manufactured this week, so when I get the time, I'll whack it all back together again.
I'm still in contact with the company that made it all happen, and thay are very reluctant to do any more, as thay sank a lot of time and money into it, with no return, so I can quite understand their frustration....which is why I've tryed to keep their name from this forum.
Their bottom line is, that the clutch as it is will handle about 600 gallopers, and for those interested whe are looking at a cost of around 2K.
I AM NOT IN THIS FOR PERSONAL GAIN. but simply to do something extra for our fantastic cars, and the fantastic people that drive them.
Hope this covers it all up to date, and I'll keep you all posted as to what happens, I know I'm not a prolific poster, but that's simply cos I don't have the time.
Stay well all and enjoy your weekend.....and Ash and Trackcar.....great to see your posts guys.

Its good you're still hanging on Paul. You can see just how much time and effort went into just getting the clutch sorted, times that by about a 1000 and you'll realise what I and my project have been going through, but we're getting there and I'm as patient as a wall, 10 months without the cerb and I cant even remember how she felt, so hang in there bud, you'll have it all sorted and hopefully have a clutch which lasts the life of your engine...
PS. There are a number of clutch companies which my engineers would normally consider (all foreign I'm afraid), but I have passed the details of your guys over to them so hopefully TVRCraft will probably be in touch with them pretty soon. The driveshafts are done, just the bellhousing/clutch/propshaft remaining and thats the whole drivetrain sorted, wheels and tyres are already in (many thanks to Craig for getting the tyres sorted! if only there were more chaps like Craig in this world, we'd all be living in harmony)

Welcome home Ash ![]()
I'm back, cos I cant stand thinking that in some way we all play a part in something together that keeps us from harms way
God bless you all and stay away from the underground and main route buses!!!! The think-tanks believe there'll be an escalation in kamikaze bombers...
I always said we should have never stuck our nose up uncle sams arse, now every individual is a potential twrist or undercover gun-slingin cop. My condelences to the young brazilian who did what anyone else would do when approached by an ordinary looking bunch of fellas with shooters, RUN!!!!
Did you refit the slave with the ports north south or east west? If you did it as per the factory, east west, it’s a pain to get all the air out as half the slave is above the bleed ports.
The pedal does come back up but takes some time. I may be clutching at straws here but it caught me out!
