What’s everyone’s opinion on these detectors these days, it used to be Road Angels or was it Scorpions or something?
I’m in the market and need recommendations.

Or just drive within the NSL? Strangely satisfying, and a cerbera feels raw at any speed. Speed is for trackdays.

Waze has done me proud over the years. The only time I had it switched off I was done by a van on the A3.

Switched it on after and it had been reported by loads of people and I would have saved myself points and a fine.

I bought one of these. It's good, and not too chunky in the window. Updating it is a bit of a faff.

I have a radio with a screen/apple play in the Tuscan, so most of the time I just rely on Waze when driving locally. The Alpha X is only used for long journeys really.

Nice one, can you recommend any decent driving gloves too? 😂

I’ll try Waze, I hadn’t heard of it but there seems to be a lot of people using it 👍, many thanks.

Waze for sure. It's updated live by drivers so you get real time reports of the speed vans

Thanks for recommending Waze,I like it. Must admit I’ve had a couple of warnings that were inaudible for some reason but I’ve now downloaded YouTube Music as the player to use with it. I’ve a feeling letting Waze run in the background and using normal YouTube wasn’t compatible as when I minimised YT and opened up Waze again it seemed to constantly be “searching” and the other ther wazers had disappeared, if I shut it down and opened the app again it was back to normal.

Waze is ok but doesn’t alert for all speed traps (visually yeah but not all get a sound). My girlfriend has a cheetah c550 and it’s fab.

I found that if you leave your iphone on silent mode some alerts on Waze don’t sound, but if you have the phone on normally they all alert. Not sure about android phones

If you prefer google maps instead of the cartoony waze interface, get tom tom speed cameras app, set it in overlay mode and it will warn of fixed/avg/mobile cameras, accidents, roadworks and the like.

It's free and no ads.

Waze only gives audible alerts if you are over the speed limit.
If you are under the speed limit it is always just a visual warning.
The more you use it, the more simple it becomes.
Take the A64 to Whitby/Scarborough has about 6 Vans policing, Eastward in the mornings, Westward after lunch.
Looking for Tourists going to the Seaside. These Van's constantly move position.
Saved my Arse many a time.
