One of my rivnuts has come away from the airbox. It looks like it’s had a repair with an inlets section, this has been glued and screwed in place making it a nightmare to get inside to do a proper job. Is there another way of doing it?

There are two parts of the Cerb that I truly despise, the coolant tank with it's central overflow that ensures the upper chassis rail gets destroyed by corrosion, and the 4.5 airboxes

They are just horrible, I am continually scared that something will find it's way in to the combustion chamber and destroy the engine

There has been at least one Cerb where this has happened, cracking a liner, and causing much more damage besides

Whatever you do, make sure that nothing can come lose inside the airbox

Joolz has also warned me that the cracked fibreglass around the crushed ports where hoseclips have been over-tightened, is also a danger as it is so abrasive - I really need to deal with that

I can see what’s left of what the rivnut was encased in and I’m going to take my Dremel to it just in case.
I’ve bought some 3 mm carbon fibre to make a fill piece for that end that I’ll epoxy on, I can’t see what else I can do as it’s already had a repair and had new inlet tubes bonded on. 3mm should be enough for a rivnut to clamp onto.
Something was wrong with the amount of pressure on that end, I’ll adjust or open up the mounting holes on the triangle cam cover brackets to ease the situation.
The other airbox is sitting a tad high and the bonnet is resting on it, leaving a mark. The scuttle is sitting on an inlet tube too,it’s got aftermarket short ones. I don’t know if it’s an optical illusion but when I look at the passenger row of inlets, the back one seems a bit higher than the others and one looks shorter, I’ll at least swap those two or cut 10mm off the bottom of that one.
