My 4.5 airbox is damaged, the single rivnut at the rear of the drivers side airbox has come out because of the outward pressure caused by the short intake hoses (I’ve got some carbon fibre to fix this). I’ve shortened the intakes by 1/2 inch which has brought the airbox closer to the brackets. The problem is I think I need to shorten the other end of the intake as the airbox is not flush with the bracket,it is at the bottom but not at the top, which means I’d have to pull the airbox flush putting pressure back on the rivnuts.
Is this a common issue?
Should I clock the intakes a few degrees anti-clockwise on the manifold and then twist them on the airbox to straighten it all up?
