New clutch issues - again!
Discussion
Hi all, well I'm still trying to get my new clutch working.
I think its bled now, with the gearbox off and a splined shaft in temporarily the cluch works.
BUT! With it all back together, its not right. Here's what's happening:
Engine off, depress clutch, goes into gear fine.
Start car, raise clutch, car drives and changes gear fine.
But start the car in neutral, depress clutch, won't go into gear.
With engine running take gears to neutral, then won't go into gear again. Unless you stop the engine.
Anyone got any ideas on this please? Me and my (very good but not TVR experienced) mechanic starting to scratch heads badly.

It takes some time to get a pedal back. The engineers that did mine were not TVR experienced but work on racing saloons. They put a peice of wood to depress the pedal over night, did the trick, I dont know how!
Expect the clutch pedal to move about a bit, up and down after though.
Did you put the pressure ports top and bottom?

Yes as advised. Seems to be bled fine. But whats the business about not being able to select a gear when engine running? Its as if the clutch isnt releasing fully, yet if that was the case the car would creep forward when the clutch was down.
I do though, think we can smell hot clutch if I sit with the clutch down and the engine running for a while.

Its dragginf on the plates. Mine did the same, although not hot.
If you can take it for a drive, after the wood treatment, then try bleeding it again.
I dont know how TVR do it but it was a pain to get the pedal back to the top again.
PS its been several '000 miles now and all is fine.
