I'm going to need to run some heavier wiring to the fuel pump, any tips on how to approach that, as I've not even checked the routing

Presumably I have to get from the pump to the fuse box, can you pull the new cable through?

I was hoping someone cleverer was going to reply first. I did mine years ago, from memory it's not difficult, goes through a bung, up to the inertia switch?

I did it on mine. The wire runs along the top of the fuel tank to the pump.

If battery is in the boot the original fuel pump cable could be used to drive a fused fuel pump relay fitted and wired in the boot

It's a Cerb, Penny, the battery isn't in the boot.

Ultimately I think I'll have to do that, but using the fuse box as the +ve source

Looks like a major project, and I have several others that more pressing, so that will have to wait

Ok then

Have always found that a seperate fuel pump relay and holder is more reliable than one fitted in a fusebox with all those internal links to it
