Not the usual tyre question !!

Fairly new to Cerbera ownership so forgive me if this has been covered before .It's not about brand preferences.
The handbook states "Z" rated tyres , and that is what is currently fitted ( SO3's). Now if my understanding is correct Z's are rated to 149MPH. Not that I would ever take it to the limit;) but the car is capable of more . So the questions are:
What would be the position with an insurance company if they queried the tyre spec following a prang ?
What would be a high enough rating to cater for the Cerbera performance ?

God knows about insurance companies, some dont go to that much detail, but some do...
As far as tyres are concerned, the old rating of Z is now known as Y... I'd recommend double marked tyres ie ZR + Y... like the Pirellis/ Bridgestones/ Michellins/Dunlops... not cheap tyres but its safe to assume that these tyres will handle speeds in excess of 170mph...
If you not gonna be going to that end of the scale, I'd say Toyo's/GoodYears/Falkens should fit the bill nicely, these tyres out of the bag will give incredible grip without much fuss... the exotic tyres I mentiond in the earlier paragraph nearly always would require substantial suspension/camber etc configuration to put them to good use, in my books the only man in the UK who is the bible on Cerbera handling is Joolz (aka Trackcar), talk to him, and if you're willing to spend some dosh to seriously improve your rides handling - he'll suggest the right tyres and right shocks and configure it to your driving style, getting the car to work with your driving style is best insurance you have to keep you on the road safely! So dont cheap it!
