The engine will drink a bit of oil depending on how hard you drive it, if it's drinking lots of oil say 1 litre per 500 miles of steady driving then I would be a bit worried.

There are plenty of threads on what type of oil to use, from 5W-40, 10W-50, 10W-60 and 15W-50 all of which are fully synthetic. I currently use Silkolene Pro 10W-50 in my 4.5.

The most important thing is to regularly check the oil level and always ensure it is at the top level mark on the dip stick.

General rule for warming up the car is a steady drive for about 15 mins not exceeding 3k revs, by this time the water temp will have reached it's optimum point and the oil temp should be reached, with it circulated around all of the important parts.

Oil type will depend on engine and to a certain degree your preference - Sp6, V8 or whatever. Some peeps stick with the Mobil 1 stuff, others move on to thinner motorsport fluids. I'd have a chat with your dealer/indie and see what they reccommend.

As for colour, look carefully at the dark blue, if it has little lighter coloured flecks in it, then it's Starmist Blue (check the Chimaera in my profile)

Apart from that, welcome and enjoy!
