Hi All. My buzzer for shift change (and lights on) seems to be off. The owner manual says it can be turned on/off by a dealer. Just wondering if anyone knows how to do it and if it is a simple job please?

Thanks 👍

I'm not aware of a buzzer for lights on?
As for shift change, do you mean rev limit, which starts around 7200 from memory?

Does this use the same buzzer for the indicators? Do you get a beeping when your indicators are on

It may be busted, or the volume turned right down. If you remove the crescent-shaped cowling (wing nuts either side), there is a tiny potentiometer on the dash PCB that changes the volume of the beeper.

It should also sound continuously when the ignition is on and immobiliser disarmed, when ready to start.

Edit: there is no lights-left-on warning..

Thanks for this - which cowling do you mean (where in the car)?

The leather-clad dash cover, above the dials. Gives access to the back of the dash panel/dials.

Many people turn it right down because they don't like the beeping when the indicators are on. From memory, you may have to remove the bodywork around the steering column, there's a wingnut on the inner wing at the rear, a 10mm bolt on the tunnel, and velcroe at the front, at least on mine.

Then there's two wingnuts at either end of the cowl over the dials under the dash. A bit fiddly to find, and put the wingnuts back on when refitting. Take the cowl off and it exposes the back of the dashboard, dials etc. Don't be tempted to tug it around as the capilary pipe is vulnerable. There's a potentiometer on the back that adjusts the volume.

As said, it beeps for indicators, rev limit (starts 7K, 7.2K?) and gets more frantic as the revs rise. No lights op reminder.

Thanks for this. I think I’ll leave it alone - I don’t fancy dismantling the dashboard if I’m really honest!!!
