Drove to wales last week in the TVR and because traffic was heavy just really pootled along and got 26mpg, about equal to the best I've ever got.
Topped the tank before coming back last night, easy run with little traffic but took it really steady as the dog was on the front passenger seat. Topped it again when home... 168 miles 27.5 litres or 6 gallons... 28mpg!!!
What, where, how, what magic is this. I didn't believe it, I was expecting to put another 5 litres in but it's brimmed...

I regularly get 26mpg from my speed six; on twisty and hilly roads, hoing briskly but within NSL. I think Cerberas can do better than modern cars with equivalent performance because of their light weight. And the ECU was probably state of the art for the era. Still expensive to run but much better than a 20mpg car!

I done an 800mile mostly motorway (but included autobahns...) trip recently and worked it out at 28mph, i wasn't shooting for high mpg either but did generally sit about 70mph, too long a day to be charging on constantly.Anyway, i was very surprised, expected way less.
I remember when I had the X5 4.8iS as my daily and the Cerbera as my weekend car. The Cerbera almost offered diesel economy in comparison to the 12mpg that I was getting from the X5!
That X5 has been the most thirsty car I've had, although the 17mpg that I got from the E92 M3 wasn't miles behind it to be fair.
It was the lightness that always helped the Cerbera with its mpg I reckon.

Ah, but was it super unleaded at Esso / Shell (E0 in some places apparently despite being labelled E5) or the cooking supermarket variety E5 or even
E10 unleaded.
Sorry work got in the way.

Sainsbury's super unleaded going out, Texaco super unleaded on the way back, brimmed on return at Sainsburys again

I reckon there's a chance you have a 3.73 diff, although that still doesn't account for an extra 30% over the rest of usI reckon 28mpg is doable for sure, years ago I got 25, and that was when the engine was running poorly in comparison to now (completely shagged valve guides)
I also note that when setup nicely a Cerbera runs just as smoothly as a new car. People talking about rough jerky running need to be looking at faults (throttle cable for a simple fix).
Mine is 4.2, not re-mapped, runs like a dream.
