Skimming and Discs

ARe you skimming rear disks? That is feasible and Racing Green can quote you.
You cant skim the original 4.5 front brakes (Racing Green wouldnt do mine as not poss to do).
So best choices are to get them 'ground' (a place in guildford can do it when disks are removed from car) or better still replace with new original AP spec , tuscan S style (not brilliant) or with a 'trackcar' upgrade (ie Joolz style).

I really don't see how skimming the discs gets rid of squeal. Squeal is caused by a very fast vibration. Stands to reason the uneven disc surface can't cause it or the pitch would be speed dependant surely.

I think the squeal starts from the the angle at which the brake block is being clamped to the disc, and is exaccerbated by any nearby metal that it can resonate against.

squeal from the brakes is due to the natural resonance of the disc and distortion/flex in associated components such as the pads calipers and brackets which initiates it ..

you can never eliminate squeal, it's always there .. what you can do though is move it out of the human audible range .. things like pad backing shims isolate the individual components so they each resonate at a higher frequency, rather than behaving as a whole block which lowers the squeal frequency into the audible range.

you could quite possibly change your discs / pads / etc and find it worse than it is at the moment ...
