Trying to bottom this issue out?
I've had a response from PG, who advises inserting a 100 ohm resistor and (ignition switch controlled) relay on the D+ cable to the alternator. The resistor will obviously generate heat - so needs to be sited sensibly. Plus, I'd prefer to keep the wiring standard.
Bottom line is that the new alternator is doing all it's supposed to...except that the D+ connection doesn't like the LED battery charge/ignition warning light that illuminates on switch-on.. Is this because it is LED? Should I use a diode as advised in the Tuscan parts Wiki?
