Not really feeling the force

Went for a blast today (in connection with clutch leaking thread) and she feels a little off colour. Last week was the first time I've driven the car every day since I've had it so wondered of it's just a case of getting used to the power but it doesn't seem to have that kick. I've been attempting to test for clutch slip doing the usual gunning it from low revs, don't think it's slipping but should'nt it light the tyres up if you floor it in second say at about 20mph. Admitedly I'm haven't been snapping the throttle open (see past thread as to reason why)

Anyway maybe some one would kind enough to hook me up with the relevant software so I can plug it in and have a look, been dying to have ago.

Yes Eddie 4.2 is helping out with the software - which may shed some light.
Snowed under at the moment but I will be in touch with the Austec boys and book a slot when you are there for a power run and some mapping in the near future.

off topic, I notice you had a Countach, you note that it was a financial disaster... was this just depreciation ? or were the running costs ludicrous ? I ran a Cerb for a year, did around 18K miles and had very high costs plus ridiculous depreciation, so I'm not scared of these things ....

Has your cerb cost you £20K to do 18K miles? ie fixes, servicing and depreciation. If so then you are maybe ready for a countach, so long as you dont do more than 2,000 miles pa.

Financial disaster? - for me - yes, my own fault? - yes, do it again? - yes but not with my eyes closed.
To be honest my financial situation at the time couldn't do the car justice and I paid the price.
In short I wasted an opportunity to fully enjoy a truly epic car.

Cerb costs - mileage in 1 year 18k miles

servicing costs - 6K

other bits fixed under warranty - 4-5k

depreciation (partly due to significant work needed doing at time of sale) - 9K

MPG - who knows - less than 15 for sure

amount of fun - lots

it was costly for me because I 1. bought a car with high miles, from a dealer whose pedigree I didn't know, too little money - i.e. didn't use my head.

I then drove it sun rain or snow.

I live in the SW and imho there are no real Cerb specialists here (only one I never used was Penninsular - so maybe they are excellent, but a bit far) - I got fleeced properly by one main dealer (I spent 600 to get the windscreen wipers working - they lasted 20 mins, then had a bill to do it again - had a £1500 service to fix all problems as it wasn't running right, afterwards still didn't run right and a few weeks later took it to Austec who found so many problems that were never mentioned, such as broken cats, knackered brake discs, dying clutch, chasis corrosion etc, and used an indie who were nice guys, but just didn't have the level of expertise of someone like Austec or Fernies etc.

Next Cerb, I will pay top dollar and make sure it is only touched by the good guys.

However... a Countach - yes please !

Correct me If I'm wrong, but are you allowed out on your own? Do they only give you crayons to play with, i.e. no sharp objects?

6k for servicing? 18k miles is three services - never £6k worth.

4-5k for warranty work??? If its warranty why are you paying for it?

Less than 15mpg? Did you do an awful lot of short journeys, or did you rag the arse off it all the time - and I mean all the time?

Can I interest you in my Cerb? '99 4.5 with 25k miles, yours for £45k
