Air filter etc assembly

My 4.5 has some after market bolt on F1 style air filters.
I want to put it back to standard.
I have the bendy black hoses that clip to the intake boxes either side of the engine and to the box on top of the radiator. I am missing the 'ram' in the front nose. anyone know what a new 'ram' will cost?
Also - where does the airfilter go ?

The air filter is a thin piece of foam, treated with filter oil, and trapped in place between the top of the ram, and the fiberglass collector, which the two hoses push on to.
the collector is held in place with over centre catches that hook up to brackets that stick up behind the ram.
I was considering fitting the F1 style filters,are you just looking to return the car to standard, or is there some other reason for the switch ?

By far the biggest part of the induction warming takes place by radiated heat into the black airboxes either side of the engine. The engine bay filters don't have any effect on the air temp by the time it's going down the manifold.
By all means reconnect back to std, but be aware you can't get the full fit foam cerbera filters anymore, they give you the griffith panel filter which has even less area than the original fit filter. going back to std is most definately the retrograde step, not the other way around ...

But what about any 'ram air' effect at speed? surely this must act as some sort of forced induction?

popular misconception. at 200mph you get approx 4% increase in hp .. assuming you design a really efficient system. the cerbera version gains nothing in hp, you can read the baro pressure directly off the diags software to see it has no pressure change effect.
It looks fast but is a waste of time trying to buy and fit one if it's missing... the area in front of the radiator is high pressure anyway.
