Strange alarm prob

Sorry folks but here's another alarm thread!
My Cerb gets used every day, rain or shine. Alarm has been working fine, locks, unlocks for nearly two years now.
Three days ago press the fob to unlock and the alarm chirps for 1/2 secs but still unlocks as usual. I think the worst and hope the battery is OK. [b]***[/b]
All was well and after many stops for shopping etc, locking and unlocking without the chirp I thought no more about it.
Next morning it repeats the same chirp first thing. All OK for the rest of the day.
Day three (today) it would seem it's become the norm!!
My first thoughts are the siren battery maybe on it way out.
Can anyone give me a clue?/had the same?

Have a read of the handbook. I had to remove the No.8 fuse the other day (long story involving 20 month old son, a 1p and the ciggy lighter)every time I locked the car it chirped 5 times - interior not armed/intefered with. I think 2 chirps indicates doors not secure, so could be the proximity switch on the sill.
Checked the book and it doesn't say anything about a chirp!
Does say about when setting the alarm it should flash 3 times.....mine has always flashed 4, and I'll have to get a stop watch out to time the red LED flashing
but I will check!
Anyone elses manual say any different?

Just an update.
Spoken to Carl at Car & Bike Installations and it seems that a faulty siren is to blame.
The idea is to disconnect it until a new one can be purchased. Should just unplug no problems but when I did the siren went off. Stayed on for 15 secs then off for 5 secs then started the cycle all over again. Carl said this was a definite siren fault and I need to let it sound for an hour or so to let the built in batt die! I refitted it until a rainy day as the locals have all their windows open today!!
New one is ordered!! £89.90.

Stuff it full of rags that will do the trick, make it nice a quiet when it goes off.
