CREAM - Convoys > Convoy!!!

Ok chaps, now we got the group hotel booking on the way...

We need to organise small convoy meeting points and then big convoy meeting point... :bounce:

My hands are up for the Watford Gap to host the main convoy gathering (not in watford, the one up just before M45 Coventry, on the M1) :silly:

I'd suggest we all decide on the smaller convoys independantly and then small convoys all hook up at the Watford GAP firstly before hooking up at the next few points to build the convoy up. :)

What you all think? Sound idea?

Whos going from the Essex neck of the woods??....myself and davetherave will probably meet up for a 2 car convoy...anymore takers??...my planned route will probaly be A130-A120-M11-A14-A1(M)-A1 to the "Great gathering"....any ideas for meeting points enroute?

Ok, theres gonna be a gathering point at my yard for those passing nearby, going up on Friday.

I'm based just past the A1 Biggleswade turn off, literally 15 seconds from the A1.

So far, theres 3 cars:

Carbon Al
DavidSmith
and me

Its just a 5 minute lag coming up the A1 to be honest...

So we have 4 gathering at my yard now, I live in a fair sized private close so simple to get to and get out of...

Once I get the full number, I'll send out an email with directions, but it literally is 15 secs off the A1....

Might be able to tag along behind (just for the added grin factor) if the GTi has arrived by then... which hopefully it will have done.

Can divert onto the A1 at the Worksop/Retford junction, so if you can forward any times to me that you will be setting off etc... We will have to 'join in' from a lay-by if we find one..

We have a thread going, so just put your name down in there if you're traveling a distance.

A number of us are staying at a hotel the Friday night before the event, Graham is organising the hotel and entertainment.

I havn't had the chance to book today like i said i would, i'll sort that soon. (sorry Graham)

We were planning to go down on the Friday and book into a hotel, so will also be looking to hook up with any convoy's. We are in Romford not too far from the Dartford Tunnel.
What time are people planning to leave? I'm working nights so need to get some sleep before the off.

Mark....Davetherave and myself are planning to go together...(although exact times and route is undecided)...but your welcome to join us....probably be heading A130-A120-M11-A14-A1, and leaving around 2.30/3.00ish from the Chelmsford area if this is any good...?

Dave...does this sound about right for you???....maybe make some final plans at the next Mid Essex meet on the 11th???

I'm travelling from the Isle of Wight so even further south .Anyone driving from Hampshire or surrounding areas???

Carbon Al sets off from Hythe on Friday.... thats down there on the edge somewhere, so I guess a group of you could get together before heading up to the one of the meeting points joining the bigger convoy later...
