Is it worth cleaning up the chassis earths?
Discussion
Stooging about under the F1 panel I noticed one of the earth points on the chassis looks very rusty. First thought was disconnect the battery, get a spanner and wire brush out and clean it up. But then common sense prevailed - "This is a TVR Cerbera and at present everything electrical is working , which is in itself a minor miracle, and the accumulation of rust could well be a sigificant factor in this happy state of affairs - so I've left it alone.
However, when I was putting real connectors back onto the radiator wiring (to replace the nasty crimped bullets that had given up in disgust at the amount of road filth they were expected to operate in) the wiring has the usual black oxidation on the copper strands.
IIRC this is a classic sign of bad earthing?
Soo despite all the electrics working OK I'm still considering cleaning up the earth points as one of the after summer jobs.
Anyone messed with the earths and caused themselves loadsa grief?

F1 panel is betwixt the rads and the engine. Its cunningly designed such that all the water and other crud thrown up from the road that misses the underside of the chassis rails, steering rack and any wiring affixed there to and hits the said panel gets redirected back onto the top of the chassis rails, steering rack and any wiring affixed there to...
The earth point was on one of the chassis rails covered by the F1 panel. I was having a look at the water pipes at the time and wondering what it would look like with green silicone tubes to match the starmist green bodywork. But since it spends its life covered up its probably not worth it. I think I'd settle for standard black rubber (ooerrr) that didn't look like it had fossilised sometime during the Jurassic period.
