Twiddle my Knobs
Discussion
I only had the car for a few weeks and I was carefully driving it home from work one day when I went to change gear and my clutch hit the floor! I thought I had better break but my foot went to the floor!!!! S**t. It was only a few seconds later that a flame licked over the front windscreen and I decided it was time to crap myself. Electrics failed (thank god for manual door pulls) and within 2 minutes it was practically all over. Fire boys arrived just in time to save the £50 of fuel I had just put in the tank.
I have some interesting photos but I don't know how to post them. I believe the fire may have been caused by a ruptured fuel line near the exhaust manifold. Trust me, I made it the first inspection when buying another Cerb.
Thankfully insurance company very understood and paid out within 6 weeks. Not looking forward to next year’s premiums though!
The sad thing is that I drive past 'the incident' every day and the tarmac and hedge still remind me of my misfortune. Still, must move on - nothing deep pockets and therapy can't put right.

Spoke to a man in the know today about the potentiometers. They apparantly balance the fans outputs and should be left at factory settings. Best not twiddle.
I also wanted a membrane switch for the AC and rear demister. Part number M0747. TVR want £8 each. RS components sell the exact switch for £2.00. More interestingly, they sell a nice alloy version that has a LED fitted for £7.20. Which would you rather have???
