Crushed to be honest :(.

I have cracked the sump on my car after going over a security bollard with potholes either side (golf course private road).

Went through the insurance but it's been a nightmare with parts etc.

Just as they got it back together last month I went to pick it up to be told that the clutch won't clear for 1st and reverse :(.

So big woes for me, looking at another week before it's done.

This is why I'm missing C.R.E.A.M :(.

Been driving round in a 1.2 Corsa for so long I'll have to bed myself in gently when I get my car back!.

I did that last year, I didn't think to claim off the insurance though, second hand sump, engine out, = 1 skint Russell

Good when you get it back though

Bad news indeed.
I've been without mine for two weeks now and it's bad enough!!

Hope it's not too much longer for you.

Shit

Duncan sorry to hear that mate!!!!

Cant you grab a lift of someone and pop up anyway?

You should come up Friday with the convoy so we can all get plastered to and throw tears around at our cars being off the road for sooo long!

Really sorry Graham, I still remember the P-ride you gave me in your Cerb before I bought mine .

I don't mind telling you guys I almost cried when I went to pick it up. Turned it over and everything and then just had to leave it there .

Ash, I would love to still come but I'm a shift worker and if I were to take the time off this weekend it would have had to have been the whole hog track day and all to make it worth while!

Love and enjoy your cars guys .

Thats is normal after the gearbox has been out. The trouble is the ports for the slave are at 6 and 9 oclock. This means that half the cylinder is still full of air one you have bled it. With a little driving it does bleed itself.

Better to turn the slave through 90 degrees.

Dont tell me they are putting a new clutch in?

Err yeah they are!

They told me they bled it and bled it and bled it etc .

I'm sure as hell not going to foot the bill though as far as I'm concerned the clutch was working fine when it went in.

Oh bollox! Can you stop them? Is the old clutch ok? I guess it must be if they didnt elect to change it in the first place.

I guess u cant say who is doing it?

Sorry for the late reply, it's a local garage that I know but the important factor was Insurance approved so I have had a courtesy car for the last 13 weeks!

Good garage though. Old clutch had been in there for 30+k miles but felt fine.

It is an old style clutch btw and I'm very interested in the fact they managed to find one .

I've asked to keep the old clutch and I'll keep this post updated!

hmmmm .. curious chain of events there .. I'm initially inclined to believe that the slave is in as extra300 says .. but if you can get a clutch for nothing that'd be cool .. not many people manage that I'm curious too how they managed to locate one when no-one else has for the last 6 years ...
