Hi Guys,
very minnor prob, but just took the car to a good hard drive (as ive missed it ha ha) but mainly to check it is all 100% fixed, the bad knocking prob is cured. However I think i have noticed this before, after a hard drive and the brakes have got hot, i think the drivers side brakes are rubbing, very noisey swish swish noise in relation to the speed you are going. any ideas? seems like the pad is not fully retracting after braking and is rubbing on the disk.

thanks

Dan

Have you had new pads?

It could be the disc expanding with the heat.

does it vibrate under heavy braking. Could be a very slightly warped disk

My old pads did this after heavy braking...The pad moves slightly in the caliper and the 'swishing' sound you hear afterwards is the pad in contact with the part of the disc it would not normally touch.(Only needs to move a 1mm or so) This will go in a few miles once either the pad has found its way back into its original position or the pad/disc beds itself back in....
