But must add it still felt good :bounce: and then after standing back at the 'pits' listening and watching others do their runs...awesome

I had a crap high speed run.

Once I'd set off, realised I'd left the window down, so wound it up whilst trying to change gear then when it wouldn't go the last inch, realised I'd left the door slightly open

By the time I got round for a second go, they'd closed the run

160 on the speedo, and all the people I spoke to said 150-160 on theirs too....shame we couldnt have had the extra 1/2 mile available to us, as Im sure most would have seen 180 plus.
Still 160 over 0.8 of a mile and from a standing start isnt too bad!

That would be one suggestion I would have for the next Cream - have some timing equipment and open up the rest of the straight.

We looked into both of these.
Naturally the 'entrance' was the 'missing' extra bit of runway and timing gear is not permitted on officially run track days.

Sorry to those who didn't manage a run, although some managed two?!

We did let it run over by 20 minutes but had to end it as we had some racing cars waiting with hot
engines ready to entertain!

Maybe we could borrow a few 'boys-in-blue' with their hand held speed thingys for next year?

A thought then on the timing - perhaps this might work if the high-speed runs took place after the track day?

Again we were restricted as another event followed right on after ours.

Certainly something we'll improve on next time though.

135ish first run...too busy looking for the mad man with the chequered flag and perhaps the marshalls words were still ringing in my ears...'You'll see an ambulance....' 2nd run was better, 160 which was verified by the GPS and my speedo recorded the same

Yes, I understand the compromises you must have had to make. Just a thought on improving things for next time.

Hi Keith,
I had the same problem with the ambulance, as soon as I saw it I lifted off the gas, and was looking for the flag, I did still manage 150 though. Mark took the second go and managed just under 170, but he had me telling him when to brake

Well done Tracey & Mark, if I had managed to persuade Sandra to get in the car with me the chances are we would've been braking much earlier Forgot to ask you where did you get your camera mount from and who was the guy interested in my rear lights Mark..forgot his name..mind like a sieve must be the Optimax fumes or is it something else?

Same here, once i saw that ambulance I lifted off as did Tracey (mrs mad mark) We only managed one run each (but that makes 2 for the car) so we didn't do too bad.

Man with a phone next to me got a good shot of my white knuckles on that run, the thing I found unnerving was the fact I couldnt see that track for the heat haze.

It's quite expensive but it is a proper piece of kit.

161 on the Garmin GPS, didn't look at the speedo. Guess it must have been showing 170ish as mine reads out by about 9/10%.
It was hard to keep in pinned while watching for some chap franticaly waving a flag.
We needed more room, like the whole runway.
