I’m refurbing the steering column before it goes back into the car. Any idea of a source or part numbers of these 2 items?

Triangular nylon bush

The bearing is easy to get, but I can’t find the rubber cover for the bearing

Cheers

It probably a rubber sealed bearing, if not just add RS to the bearing number

Some years ago my steering was worn, lots of movement in the steering wheel, which turned out to be that plastic bush. I think I found it was a Ford Sierra part, I had to buy two columns from a scrappy to get one off, so I still have a spare.

I think that you are correct with a ford part, just can’t find em. I’ll ring the usual sources next week. Motaclan & racetech show a bush with a triangular internal, but round outer.

I think the bush is part of the sierra column and not available separately.

Surely this is something that can be 3D printed nowadays. Can't be that difficult.

I think so too. I had to buy two columns from ebay, but luckily got them quite cheap a while ago. They are quite well stuck on, hence my spare has a crack all the way down.

Should be 3d printable? Happy to provide my spare for copying...

If its the same OD bearing as fitted to the Chim and Griff then my son has just printed me a few of those bearing cups. Printed in a hard plastic not rubber. I've fitted it to my Chim and it's perfect.

Can post one out to you.

Chim bearing is 6005 2RS 3CA
Cup is as follows.
OD of bearing 47mm
OD of rubber cup 51mm
Hole in base 25mm dia
Depth of cup 15mm

I don't think it's the cup, it's the triangular plastic slide as shown, that wears and you get slop in the steering

I can't see a cup on the parts diagram

http://www.nineelmsphotography.com/cerbera/images/...

The two piece complete shaft is one part number

It shows two bearings, one near the UJ, but no cover? Now anything listed in the parts list?
