Anyone after 18" Spiders?

I dont know what i will end up with wheel wise, so these are no good to me yet, but i figured most people are always after upgrades...

these look like a reasonable buy at the moment...

I am desperate for a set of 18" spiders, but beleive that a '97 Cerb has to be fitted with Tuscan fronts all around, unless you mod the wheelarches, fit spacers on the rear and cut down the end of the shafts.

Any advice please?

When you fit 18" spiders you also need to fit lockstops to the steering rack to prevent the inside rims catching the wishbone. Also, be careful how you cut the ends of the shafts on the rear - if you use a power tool you generate a lot of heat and risk affecting the integrity of the nyloc nut retaining the hub. BTW, if you fit 245/35 18 tyres at the rear on "rear" spiders (which are theoretically a better conversion from the original tyre size) you almost certainly won't need to modify the arches. Larger sizes than 225/35 18 on the front will give 2 problems - they may not fit (but tolerances vary on these cars so might in some cases), but you will also change the rake of the car thus affecting aerodynamics). It's quite complex and you really need to get it right if you use your car anywhere near its potential - we recommend consulting the experts
