I have put this in the general section too but here goes. I am going to buy a tvr probably feb time, no sooner cos i need to save and want to learn as much as possible before buying one. Because of money i was going to get a cheap cerb, like 14k, but now i see tuscans about 18k, which is better value for money?? And am hearing cerb's are costly to maintain but not sure in what way?? Tuscans look better i think but love them both!

I ummed and arred for over a year about getting either a Cerb 4.5 or a Tuscan.

like you i wanted the goodlooking convertable porn lifestyle of the tuscan to start with.


I settled for a Cerb in the end because the tuscans for around the same price range were not as good and seemed to generate more issues than the cerbs of that range.

I spent 17k on my Cerb 4.5 which i think i got for a bargain as it was off a friend (97)

Had the cerb for 2 months now and love it--- went out for an optimax run which quickley turned into a 1 hour drive and had 5 groups of lads shouting nice car to me on the journey.

The point is-- dont go for the cheapest you can find because bills can be costly.

Thanks mate, BTW why is your name gtt at the end?? So you suggest a decent cerb rather than a cheap tuscan? I love the tuscans with the nicer front and rear lights, nice colour bodywork and nice wheels. Interiors are both lush, convertible would be nice, but so are rear seats!! They are both wicked really

I'd like a Tuscan, do your homework, ask someone who rebuilds the engines, see what they think.

From experience, they'll tell you to go for something post 2003, if that's outside your budget, go for a Cerb.

Luckily i love both so i will be sensible and like you said ringing a few experts will defo be a good idea, thanks.

From what i understand a Cerb is no more expensive to maintain than a Tuscan, so it all depends on what you prefer. I briefly considered a Tuscan, but the Cerb has it in the looks and performance departments for me, and i have never looked back. Go with your heart, not your head on this one

I'd suggest going to some TVR meets, if there are any your way.

people there are always willing to talk about their cars, and give advice, and maybe even take you out for a ride

when we were thinking about it, Ray, from mid-essex meet, took Mark out for a spin in his yellow cerb, I checked the boot to see if the buggy would fit, and bingo we didn't need much more persuasion

I love the Tuscan, but since getting the cerb, I am a total addict, can't imagine ever getting rid of it.
