Finally got around to getting the RL17's refurbed, after buying them from another PHer what seems like ages ago.

I know the current wisdom is no dark wheels on a dark car, but I fancied an anthracite finish..

..so this is the result:

Well, I like it , (and what a difference in grip after changing from 16" with old tyres murdered at CREAM!)

I can thorougly recommend the peeps who carried it out, at a farm near Uxbridge: (01895) 259100.

Looks good to me Are they plastic coated or just powder coated?? We have a second set in need of a refurb!!

So... more grip, out to get revenge after having been tango'd?

Apparently almost a pound of varnish went on each, probably not doing wonders for unsprung mass, so varnished!

Nah, I've seen the light, and am going to get some dodgy intermediate "of course they're road legal, officer" specials for the 16". Really fancy Snetterton next.

Agree, or for that ultra mean look, remove them altogether, and spit coppalube everywhere..

More photos here, if anyone wants a look.

These wheels are great! Loads better than they were before.

They look good, (I cant enlarge the pics tho).

Whats all this about "no dark wheels on a dark car"
mines Saphire black with black wheels, looks cool imho.
I might even tint the windows aswell.

Who did your wheels by the way? Mine could do with a bit of work.

Just clicking on the thumbnails should bring the images up to a more viewable size. Probably.

Hope you can help me on tyre size !! I've just got a set of the standard 17" 4.5 cerb wheels to replace the 16" standard wheels on my 4.2.
Now my 4.2 cerb has 235/45 x 16 up front and 245/45 x 16 on the back.

The new 17 inchers have 235/40 x 17 front, and 255/40 x 17 on the back.

The question is will they fit? is it as simple as just swapping them over, or do i need to buy different size tyres? Strictly speaking I think i should get new tyres , 235/40 up front and 245/40 at the back to keep the same rolling radius, but I dont want to go to the expense if it can be avoided! If anyone knows the answer it would be much appreciated
