Just got the car back from Austec - I took it in for Friday but the power figures where low (330BHP) and full of dips so Paul checked the cam timing and found one cam timed wrong , so after timing the cams (and checking the tappets whilst he was there) he re-mapped it today and its transformed much smoother, more eager and so much quicker everywhere
the spec is : 4.5 with decat and sports exhaust and Magnecor leads the flywheel figure is 391.1BHP and flywheel torque is 336.1 which looks low compared to some but with over 300lbs/ft available from around 2700 to 6600rpm it just seems to pull realy well!

Out of interest, how much did this work cost?

Spoil sport the league is for everyone, its a good way of knowing what cars do, should help in sales I would have thought too

lol the very first two cars i did both made 391.1hp .. it's a good number

Paul put my standard cerb on the rollers and I was pleased with the figures. Made 345 bhp at the flywheel with 365 lbs of torque. He said it was a good standard car. Only mods are de-cat and sports exhaust. He did say it was unusual to see the torque higher than the bhp.

Make you doubt what TVR are doing with these thing rolling them out of the factory so far off the optimum - what ever the peak numbers.

It was interesting that the Tuscan II tested in EVO still didn't get near the advertised figures, even though TVR are no apparently trying to be more 'realistic' with the output.

Tell that to Whitey - see Sp6 RR Thread - should be 380 made 339! and 28ish torque - still very fast (well realtively), mine murdered it at the weekend on a looong straight in the country.

What makes you think that you can acheive an optimun figure on a rolling road anyway?

Engines run on dynos are always more responsive etc. You can carry out repaetative runs to within a horsepower on an engine dyno, it's very hard if not impossible to acheive that on a Rolling Road. Even one that guesses figures....

As an indication from before and after fair enough but never take teh figures as gospel unless runs are done on the same day, with teh rollers set up the same and with all figures corrected back. I have yet to see a rolling road that has done this properly.

Gotta say - that's pretty dam close.. with another 10K miles it could well loosen up and give pretty close to that
