Hi all, my windscreen washers have stopped working . I cat here the pump running so its not a blockage.

Does anyone have any suggestions to check before I go digging to replace the pump?

Unclip the pipes from the wiper arms, pull the spray bar off the end & straighten them out, try the washers and see if anything comes out.

Sometimes it's a blockage near the end and just flexing the pipes will work.

My next port of call would be to check the other end, and if you have access to compressed air disconnect the pipes at the tank and blow them through.

This may sound stupid (sorry!) but have you checked the fluid level in the bottle? Depending on which version you have, it may be that a split pipe causes the fluid to syphon out when it isn't being used!!

Don't ask me how I know..... frown

Thanks. I’ll check but pretty sure the pump isn’t working.

I replaced mine a few years ago. I used this:

One thing to note: the washer bottle has a vent at the top, and there should be a short (6 inch or so) rubber hose connected to it that should point straight up. If this has fallen off then the washer fluid will come out the top and all over the floor when you top it up.
