Good evening everyone. While looking at Cerbera washer modules online (mine let out the smoke) I stumbled across the world of standalone washer/wiper control modules. I never knew such things existed.

This one in particular caught my eye.

The issue I (may) have is that it requires the switched inputs to activate the wiper speeds 1 and 2 and the washer signal to be switched grounds. As I am away for the next two weeks I can't check on my own car, so I was wondering if anybody knows if this is the case or not?

The buttons on the steering wheel are all connect to ground buttons.

It looks like a good control box except that - washer aside - there is only one button on the Cerbera for wiper control. It cycles through intermittent, slow & fast. This box looks like it requires separate inputs for each of those states - like a rotary switch on the end of a stalk. To use in as a direct replacement for the TVR module you would need to add additional circuitry to cycle through those 3 states.

How bad was the burn out on your existing module? It might not be too difficult to repair.

Hmm I didn't think of that. But.. looking on the main harness wiring diagram (CEPD001C) it looks like the signal comes from the steering column ECU to the wiper control as 4 seperate wires (wiper signal 1 and 2, and washer signal). The wiper ECU sends a switched power to the wiper and washer motor. So maybe column ECU already converts the signal??

Yeah the burn looks pretty bad to me, purchasing a new, modern unit would seem like a good option if it could be made to work.

Ok. I see that now. So it's possible that the column is providing a pulsed signal 1, a solid signal 1, and then a solid signal 2. The only way to confirm is to check with a meter, but that being the case you wouldn't need to bother with the intermittent input signal to the new box, just the slow input and the fast input. The slow input would already cycle through intermittent to solid.

A bit more investigating, but it looks like it might be a good fit.
