18" back to 17's
Discussion
After a number of very scary moments in the cerb, with new worn in toyos and a set of ohlins fitted,im not convinced on the handling or harsh ride of the car and was wondering if going back to 17's with a higher profile tyre would help?
Has anyone done this?
My last griff with the same susp. would leave the cerb on the contry roads.

whilst it's true that for any given suspension stiffness a lower profile tyre with a stiffer sidewall will increase harshness, i would argue that with ohlins you should be having a very compliant ride anyway. The ohlins cars i have driven have all been very supple even on race springs. I would try and work with the suspension and wheels you have now to get the ride as you like, presumably this has just happened after having a kit fitted? or has this just happened after having 18s fited? whichever was the contributing factor needs to be addressed, but even 18s shoudn't ruin your car's ride if the suspension is set up properly.
Joo,will be in touch soon i get my cerb back tommorrow, fingers crossed.
18's were on the car when i bought it and since fitted the ohlins, have always suspected the set up but was'nt sure enough to start playing around.AS i say be in touch and may be you can talk me into some more power to get it sideways properly!!
And play with my susp,at the same time.

Will happily chat about more power
but I don't deal with ohlins, and the only decent ohlins rebuilder that i knew of in the uk has stopped doing them (though if you dig around a bit you'll probably find someone else) .. try one of the motorsport operators like topcats. All I'd be able to do is play slightly on spring rates. Where did you get teh suspension from though? can't they help you out?
