nervys final cerbera problem :(
Discussion
hi gang
so, Ive decided the cerbera has to go and I'm about to try and write some copy to put in an ad somewhere.
however, Ive got no single clue as to what to advertise her for so id really like your collective advice if you wouldn't mind. apologies that this a) a grown up post and b) quite lengthy. BUT for everyone that contributes their thoughts ill send them some form of piss poor knob gag. hows that sound?
so, she is a:
2001 speed six in imperial red bull blue (y plate, private plate, which the owner can keep)
cream leather interior/ blue suede roof/ blue leather dash top and wheel/ blue carpets.
I'm the second owner.
full service history (main dealer) and receipts for every penny spent (I'm such a nerd i even keep receipts for oil and wiper blades)
23k (full engine rebuild at 16k) (uses half a litre of oil (Mobil one) every 2000 miles, which i believe is far less than normal.
transferable warranty
6 months tax, 4 months mot
full light conversion three months ago,and uprated bulbs.
full front end and partial side respray and amor' wax coating whilst the lights were done.
18" spiders (bridgestones so'3's all round, fronts nearly new, rears haven't even covered 10 miles cos i had a blow out the day i decided i was gonna sell her :rant
a/c, power steering, brembo brakes etc.
brake pads and disc's done in February
clear indicators and repeaters.
upgraded exhaust system from ACT (new)
magnecour HT leads also from ACT (new)
upgraded leven aluminum dash and trim
aluminum handbrake and gear knob
new windscreen
new speed sensor.
no track days.
used every day for work and pleasure. Ive always let her warm up until the oil pressure and water temp are correct before exceeding 3000 revs.
Ive very happy to say Ive never had any problems, despite using her every day often for long journeys (went to France for the furball in her, and she was great).
the only minor niggles incurred are an initial MIL light problem (water ingress, fixed by dealer), speed sensor failure (now replaced) and wiper failure. if i were to be deeply picky i could find fault in the state of the alloys, but a gentle refurb would sort that out. bodywork and interior are immaculate. engine runs and sounds lovely. no mechanical problems whatsoever.
and heres a few pics.
for the keen eyed amongst you, i have 4 new tvr hubcap crests waiting to go on the car, but i was holding off from putting them off until i had the wheels refurbed.
id also like some ideas as to where best to advertise it: PH? Autotrader? Ebay? i hear good things of James agger, anyone know? what about doing all of the above?
thanks for taking the time gang, as ever, i really appreciate your thoughts
best wishes,
Nervy
edited to add: these are just quick pics taken over time, ill obviously take nicer ones for the add without bird shit and with polish.

You forgot to mention:
1) Respray was as a result of end to end roll avoiding loose sugar beet
2) Bend in chassis as a result of 1)above. Means to steer straight you have to steer slightly left
3) As a result of 3) above you've had to buy new SO3
4) That saw dust in the gear box isn't standard fit
5) The slight musty smell of urine
I hope this helps.

Well considering your desertion to the safer, duller...oh I thought I was driving near a lot of mirrors - I never knew ever OTHER car was a 911...oh in fact let me use that mirror to check out my hair...side of driving.
You should really make a contribution to the Cerbera forum drinking fund and donate the car to our new pool - we can use it when our cars need servicing.
Seriously though...19k ono...just about cover your hair gel, man make-up and manicure charges...maybe even your embarrassment when the 997 goes past you...or even the 993 for that matter.
I'm sure it'll sell - nice spec though...good luck.

Somtimes S6 cerbs hang around.
James Agger always shifts them quick and at a good price.
His web site refers to sale or return deals. Give him a go.
They arent selling that fast in the private ads BUT you could be lucky.
You need to decide what you want for her - if you want £25K then you might be in for some pain but if you can afford to let her go for £19K then you might get a quick sale?!
If your price is right then stick it in with a well worded ad (clearly James A's ads are good templates).
Refer to her as a 4ltr (not a S6).
If it dont shift in 2 weeks then maybe try James A SOR ?
Ebay doesnt appear to be the best place.
