I have a 50,000 mile Cerb that I never use, I was wondering if it would be possible to put something like a BMW V8 engine and auto box into it. I love the looks of the Cerb, but having just bought a 111r for fun don't think the Cerb will be used anymore.

The looks and a lazy 300bhp would be ideal for me. Any thoughts?

I was thinking that the engine / gearbox would have a sale value. Am I right?

You couldnt fit an auto in that transmission tunnel without some 'hefty' chassis/interior re-work.

A sequential box and a LS6 could be what you need. Jellison can do a conversion and is doing them at a good price too, I remember him saying about a month and he can do the conversion at a good price, all inclusive.

Craft can also do it, but you'll have to wait till next year to book a slot for a project like this.

Neither does it for me. I fell for the Chimp shape from day one, and the Cerb is the same. I'd like to be able to keep what i feel is the classic sports car look, but with a less extreme drive.

I'm trying to get a more modern day Austin Healey. Classic lines, lazy engine etc..

There's A Rover powered Cerb in the classified's, I wonder how much work would be involved in coupling that up to an Auto.

I've read that people have put the BMW M3 engine in the Cerbera. RT racing did this I think? (search on past posts).

I'd guess you could get this with an auto box, as long as it would physically fit.

There is at least one Chimaera with an auto box, there was a thread posted on here a few years back. It was a conversion done for someone who due to either an accident or illness no longer had the ability to use the clutch (problem related to their left leg only) and they didn't want to sell their car.

dont waste your time and life on it !
Sell it for £13K
Buy a car for £25K (ie would cost you that much for conversion plus donor). Could buy an auto yank car?
