My service is due next week and am toying with the idea of getting new wheels, 18 inch spiders i guess.
Can anyone tell me how many different options there are and suggest what might be best so i can get the chap to order them?
Views on likely wallet damage would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Think you want 4 tuscan fronts.
You also need to get the other mods (hubs and something else) done.
Think they are about £250 each plus tyres.

Good choice - should cost you around £1200 with widening the arches etc...

Just phone somewhere reputable like Racing Green and tell them of your intentions - they'll be more than helpful and can give you a quote.

Sorry (again) when I say widen I mean make them a litle bigger circumference wise, in order that the 18" don't ever rub on the arches...

Not necessarily. I personally think the RL17's are a much better look (on the cerb) than the Spiders. Spiders suit the Tuscan though.

Agree with Speed8 on this. Just had my 17'' originals rebfurbished at relatively little cost and by all accounts they look great. Each to their own.

You need four Tuscan front spiders, plus some extra spacers. You'll also need stops adjusting so the tyres don't rub the arches. This means the turning circle is slightly worse, but it's no better than the QE2 to start with.

I fitted 35 profile tyres on the fronts, though I think some people can get 40s in which will give a slightly more compliant ride. I got Nitrons at the same time so I've never run the 18's on standard suspension.

I disagree, but of course that suited both of us !

(speed8 bought my 17" wheels when I got spiders)

Not yet, but was just planning on getting the garage doing the service to order them in for me.
How much for the ones you know of and where are they?
Car due in on saturday so not much time left.

dont forget that spiders dont help the ride and handling and turning circle.
