Where's the bloody chassis number ?
Discussion
Hi All,
Bought a CD on eBay for 25 squid in an attempt to learn more about my baby and it's rubbish. Unusable quality and incorrect data - so beware !
In the meantime the disc said that the chassis number was either on top of the front chassis tube or 'inside' the off-side front wishbone mounting.
And it's not !!
Do any of you out there have a clue as to where I'd be able to find it ??
Please don't say that it's mounted to the bodywork at the front of the engine bay, just under the front of the bonnet - coz in Lux they won't take that as 'affixed' to the chassis !!
Thanks for any info.

On mine, it is stamped inside the front off side wishbone mount as you say. There are 2 mounts, I think it is the front one (not near the car at the moment). I only know this because I am currently cleaning, painting and waxoyling the chassis. As such I have removed the wheels, brakes and front inner bonnet section (between rad and engine) I guess It would be impossible to see without taking some of these items off. It is not stamped very deep, I guess it would easily be obscured by a chassis treatment, If yor car has had this done in the past. The plate on the top of front chassis cross member has a date on. Build date I guess. The car is a '97 4.2
Hope that helps, and happy hunting!

Are those the CD's that got pulled off the Bay.
Is there anyone that has a original copy I could Beg.Borrow.Steal?.
Yes, they are from the rip-off merchant on EBay. Don't buy one. I'll send you this one if you mail me your postal address. I have to say it makes a good teacup coaster.
