Jacking points...

Following up on the 'need a new tyre in Glasgow' of Sunday I now need to konw where to jack the bloody thing up when the mobile tyre man comes next week...

Looked in the book and not a sausage. I think they use some kind of airbag inflaty type jack thing, but still want to make sure i don't receive a complimentary vent in the floor pan.

Any diagrams photos gratefully revceived.

Also thinking of using black circles - any bads so far with them?

Always jack up both those points at the same time. The tubular part of the Cerb frame is very rigid but not that strong.

Not good practice in this sort of car to jack up a single corner.

is it ok to jack both sides of the front up at same time rather than one whole side at a time?

yep, anything that doesn't rely on the frame to take the strain in one corner.

As a thought can you jack on the from cross members in the middle with a trolly jack and lift the whole front?

Got one of those mobile tyre fitters coming on saturday and not sure exactly what kit they have for lifting.

I had an ATS guy do a tyre on the Peugeot at home a few months ago and he had a dunlop donut pneumatic jobby.

That sounds like what i need. Pneumatic jobbies sound like they are less likely to punch a hole in my floorpan
