New car new PH name and a hello from me.....

Well after 2 years of Chimaera ownership I have taken the plunge and bought the car I always really wanted in the first place. Been lurking in here for a few months and thought I would finally pop up and say hello now that the deed is done.
And here she is:
Gone about this slightly arse about tit as had a £15-16k budget, ended up buying the above (a 98 4.2 on S plate) for the princely sum of £10,850 from ebay. Did the deal on Friday after a quick checkover by Steve at Thames Valley Racing. After much head scratching I decided to buy cheaper and then throw some money at it, I figure that if I spend £5-6k on it now to get it back to a decent position, then I will still have a good buy (if I spend less then even better) - I will also know exactly what has just been done and that it has been done well rather than just seeing it on a service sheet. I will let you all know from the Bankruptcy court in 6 months if the gamble has paid off!!!
There are some immediate issues, the most serious being some rot and therefore welding work required to the passenger side chassis. A new radiator seems to be required, some new bushes here and there and a new rear box also needed - I am sure more stuff will come to light as we go on but other than the above Steve gave it a tentative thumbs up and said it appears to be a very clean car.
With the financial insecurity the car is bringing with it
I decided it was time for a PH name change so RIP "Prof Higgins" and hello "touchingcloth".
Oh and Budaholic if you are reading this, it was following your noisy thing on the midnight tunnel run that finally made my mind up that I needed a Cerb ... so its all your fault

Well it seemed appropriate given the uncertain nature of what I have just done, it was a toss up between that and Brown Trousers. In the end it was having the ability to say "Hello, I'm touchingcloth" that swung it for me
Not really sure such toilet humour is acceptable at 33 but never mind.

, however as backbox needs doing anyway then looks like I will be starting with a sports exhaust and we will see how we go. The reason the change was authorised by "she who must be obeyed" was to have a family based silly car, if the children are too scared to get into it then it may defeat the object!!

Yes but he is spending so much time with his tv work at the moment I am a bit worried that I will have to start making arangements via his agent
