Hello everyone, i`ve recently joined PH after a few weeks of browsing the TVR section, and in particular the Cerbera section as its time i got shot of my Impreza P1 (dont say anything, i`m not one of 'them' lol) for something far more daft!
Now i think i`m doing the right thing - i`m selling the P1 as soon as possible and then i`m going to spend the next 4 or 5 months doing homework on here and looking for just the right Cerb (whilst also building up the statutory cash 'for when it f***s up' reserve). If i cant find 'the one' then everything will go on hold until early 2007 and i`ll start looking again (i`d prefer to buy a Cerb in late spring as i`ve never even driven a RWD car before and dont fancy trying to get used to it in the winter months).
So, i`ve already read and printed out alot of info that i`ll be using as a buyers guide, but if anyone has anything they think may be of use to me in my search please dont hesitate to send it to me (Abbylad@hotmail.com) as it`ll be very much appreciated.
I`m situated in the sticks - Cumbria, which is a bit of a git as i`m miles from all things TVR (dealers, indie`s etc.), but if anyone is on here from Cumbria can you give me a nudge if you like talking about your Cerb and you like visitors talking about your Cerb as i`ll be round in a shot to pick your brains and run around your car like a big daft kid.

One of 'them'? 
I had a Scoob before the Cerb. A fine all-round car. But they don't really do the same thing -- I got to change because of a change in my working circumstances (was driving to work, then switched to taking the train). I was doing 30k a year in the Scoob, which I don't think I could countenance in the Cerb.

one of 'them' as in not a chav who charges around town making as much noise as possible in front of a bunch of 14 year old girls as a few impreza owners do round my way 
My P1`s been tinkered with a bit, to the point where i`d guess it`ll be about as fast as a 4.2 so at least the power wont catch me out on its own, the power going thru only 2 wheels instead of 4 will though! lol
Does anyone have any opinions on Hexham Horseless Carriages? i`m going to nip over there and have a sniff around next time they have a cerb in (they`ve sold the one thats on their website), so i need to know if they`re sound, or cack!

think you might be in for a shock if you think your p1's as fast as a cerb. my neighbour just spent £5000 on upgrades for his and cameover to tell me how pig sick he was after being blown away by one of those f*****g cerbera things!
if your mate spent that much and couldn`t make it faster than a cerb he must`ve gone to the wrong place, or they must`ve seen him coming, you can get 500bhp out of an impreza for that money, probably wont last long though
anyway enough of all that, i wish i hadn`t even mentioned my present car to be honest, i`m here because i want a cerbera. Any opinions on Hexham HC anyone?

Any opinions on Hexham HC anyone?was interested in the warranty that would come from a dealer, but after reading posts on here it seems there`s plenty of scope for a dealer to slide out of the backdoor of a warranty and get away with charging a fortune. Probably the most sensible way is like you say to just hang around on here ready to pounce and then organise an aftermarket warranty.
I`ve been given a bit of advice (thanks Paul) to go for a year 2000>onwards lightweight cerb (i was thinking 98>onwards) which means i WOULD have to wait until 2007 to get a sizeable amount dosh saved up, but it`ll be worth the wait, unless i happen upon someone who loves their cerb but needs money fast (hmmmm

)why go post 2000 model? Not sure the logic is sound unless you must have to have an identical car bar the roof line, front lights, side trim and the weight of bonnet and doors.
The logic used to be go post 98 4.5 models but that was 3 or 4 yrs ago. By now the older cars will have had all niggles ironed out.

HHC is a cracking place, very friendly. They've looked after me for over over three years now so I think they're ok.
