Hi Everyone got another question to ask you. My cerbera speed six is makng a funny noise in third and fith gear kind of a meshy sound if there is such a thing it does not happen in other gears ony these, looked through the last service 1800 miles ago but that was last year and it had its gear gators replaced is this something to do with it or not? Would take it to my nearest TVR garage but as i live in South Wales and my closest is Coventry it would probly develop another fault on the way at least it seems thats the way my luck is going with this car right now. Still wont sell it though like my girlfriend wants as i like the way since i had it de-catted all the neighbours can listen to me go to work in the morning. Any help would be appriciated

Not sure about a "meshy" sound.

My gearbox has a "whine" about it, but it's had it since I bought the car & I've put another 12k on it since.

Anyone had their T5 gearbox rebuilt? I was wondering about mine while the clutch was changed...but then it hasn't given me any grief yet...(famous last words)

Simon,

Yep my gearbox is currently being rebuilt at Racing Green, as 5th gear popped a couple of weeks ago on the way to Brands Hatch...... D'OH......

Should cost anywhere between 500-1200 squid all in depending on what needs replacing.......

Hope that helps

You can get a newly rebuilt box for £800 I thought inc the labour to fit? I've got an apm invoice somewhere detailing it.

Phil, the guy who with the dolly sprint who is putting a 4.2 and T5 box in has just had his rebuilt. Its mentioned on his thread.

That is far too cheap.....! Why pay £800 when you can pay £1200 at a dealer.
