Cerbera Speed Six Question

Just purely out of interest, I have heard some rumblings about speed six cerberas as opposed to the V8 engined cars and would just like to know what precisely is the problem with them if any? Would I be right in guessing reliability?

I'd also like to know why TVR made the speed six when the existing V8s could deliver just as well.
