I have some Cerbera springs and dampers for sale (see www.pistonheads.com/sales/58486.htm -- but it's actually an eBay auction). A question has come from a potential purchaser, asking which are the front and which are the rear (I think the long ones are the front, but I might be wrong) and what the centre to centre sizes are of both pairs (I assume this means from top eye to bottom eye). I can measure the latter, of course, but it doesn't help me with the former. Any ideas?

Doh! When you said the rear were "short travel" I extrapolated and assumed they were shorter than the front. LOL! I guess that's why you're a suspension guru and I'm an IT consultant.

So I can put "sold via Pistonheads" on the advert.

I'm OK for you to collect tomorrow or the day after.

Thought you were selling up Nick?

You can't go buying more bits for it!

Blimey the bidding went crazy in the last 30 seconds!

I know, I saw red!

Are you after the fronts?

All I really want are the rears.

Should have sold as two lots...

They sat at a tenner with 19 watchers for a week. Up until half an hour before auction end I thought I was going to have to ship them to Belgium!

I thought I needed some earlier in the week due to teh vast quantites of oil over my nearside wheel but after a washdown it appears that the oil may have come from teh steering rack.

Will give you a shout if they are needed. Ta.

Ah! Steering rack!

Well if you need it rebuilt go to Power Steering Services in Greenwich, they will turn it around in 3 days for £150 inc VAT. I was quoted over £1000 from TVR!

£1000!!!!

Yeah saw their advert on ebay I think.

Still unsure as to how the rack has failed but it's looking ike the problem at the moment.

Any idea what the rack is from anyone?

Its a TVR casting with Ford BMW internals. If the fluid is coming out of the rubber gaitors then its the seals on the shaft gone.
