1st Problem Continued

Further to my first post re the green LED button on the centre console I havent been able to get it back to the garage (Dream Machines) to get it sorted as they are closed. I have discovered that whilst driving with the widows down (for the soundtrack!!), all of a sudden they go up on their own and the green button starts flashing. They then stop working until I stop and open the door. Once closed and a few seconds later the same thing happens. Anyone else had a similar

It doesn't arm the alarm at the same time does it?

that's normally the door bouncing on the door seal causing the proximity reed switch to rapidly open/close it's contacts .. try pulling the door in on the latch a tiny ammount and see if that helps.

Sounds like what I had now that you mention the windows.

Try and get a multimeter as soon as possible (if you don't have one get a cheap 5 quid job from homebase). Measure the voltage from battery positive to an earth point (fuel rail is a good one) with a few revs (2500 should do). Should be about 13.5-14.5 Volts approx.
My car displayed the symptoms you have. Windows going up, green light flashing. It sounds like the alarm is setting itself while you are driving along. My regulator on the alternator was fecked and was giving out 16.5V and messing with the electrics. If this is the case then you risk destroying your battery (worst case scenario for this is the battery exploding iirc) and possibly some of the black boxes.

It dosent arm the alarm purpleheadedcerb (at least I dont think so) the windows go up and the green button flashes constantly and windows won't work

I will try the door latch trackcar and see if that helps.

Did you have to get a new alternator speed8.

Trouble is I'm not going to be around now until the begining of the year as I'm off to Ireland. Will have a look at the above when I get back.

Nope, just got it repaired. £60 but I removed the alternator myself so it cut down on the labour costs.
