Fitting new dipstick tube

Hi all and a happy new year, I have got to fit a later type dipstick tube to my 4.2 the old one I have comes out in the middle of the engine bay at the back. Could anyone describe where the later one comes out and mounts to or even post a picture if possible thanks Paul.

Come on guys someone must know where there dipstick is? even a funny answer would be a start.

Mines a late 98. The dipsick comes up at 45 degreesish between the bottom panel and the front of engine just in front of where the crankcase breather exits the engine. The dipstick tube goes down 3 inches or so and then apparently bends to run horizontally outside of the offside head parallel to the head underneath the exhaust manifold towards the back of the engine. Sorry I've no idea where it goes after that. Nearly broke me neck trying to get me head down low enough to see where it went :-)

Thanks Mike just the info i need, hope your neck gets better soon i will go and by a neck brace before i try to fit it
