Sorry to hear that Dean. Did they leave any paint traces on yours? If so, I'd go around checking other cars in your street for traces of your car on it. Why can't people park properly and why can't they be honest when they cock up and leave a note on the screen? Arses. Bet you wished you'd parked it at the airport hey?
These days you couldnt tell if it was intentional or not, quite a few know they can nudge most hotties without setting off the alarm, no wander group beatings are back in fashion, feckin spastic w*nkers all over the place!

True, no point getting wound up over this, just that whenever I read a post where someones had their P&J damaged by an unknown, I feel the pain too...

yeah they left some bits of a light corner, van i think silver surround of a light, more of a huge rubber plastic bumper mark, plus deep scratches.
i collected the bits and now on the prowl!

yeah they left some bits of a light corner, van i think silver surround of a light, more of a huge rubber plastic bumper mark, plus deep scratches.

. I had a friend whos car got damaged in the same way, we did the detective work your doing now and found out with some certainty that is was a neighbour just down the road. We confronted him with bits that fitted his car and both he and his wife admitted to an accident but not with said car. We walked away with the decision of whether to go any further or not but ultimately it didn't get the car paid for and the police simply weren't interested in any evidence.This sort of thing really pi55es me off. It's never happened to my current P&J, but when i lived in London it happened to my then P&J (a trusty VW Scirocco) almost every year. Its one of the reasons i moved out of London - so i could afford a house with off street parking. I don;t think i could sleep at night with my Cerb parked on the street
Yep in my student days when my P&J was parked on the road, or at least exposed I had similar problems to this.
The answer was french. I had friends in Antebes (sorry about the spelling). Although technically illegal in this country due to our draconian transmission laws they gave me a device which simply spliced into a single wire of the car alarm. It also had a variable tremble alarm built into it.
When activate by someone touching the car, and I do mean touching the car, the device would signal a small pager that you either put on your belt during the day, or at resturants, and left on the side table at night.
Its range seemed to be about a mile which was perfect. It was so sensitive I once caught someone who had set it off putting two cupped hands on the passenger window while looking into the car.
I'm sure the world has moved on since but wouldn't it solve your problem?

he he, i think i've just had bad luck - i've owned 3 cerbs and all been there, never a problem. i was going to get a cover, which might have helped on scratching, but at the end of the day its some crap driver who must have know what he had done, and no decency to leave a note, the odd scratch etc i can deal with - but this is had taken the biscuit.

I used to sell the paging system when I was at Gardiner Security.
They were made by a company called "Scope" (not sure if they're still going)
They also did a version to go on your house alarm.
I supose the modern day version is 12volt SMS text module with alarm inputs.

ts out there, I caught someone clip my old 911 a few years ago and he drove off, so i chased him, eventually catching up with him, he denied it!

I've got a good contact who runs a forensic science company. If you do find the vehicle it comes from then the paint can be analysed to determine if it came from that particular vehicle. Get some pictures of your damage and paint traces etc. You could always file a county court claim against them if they fail to own up when you confront them. It's balance of probability in the county court, so if you have your evidence straight, then you aren't likely to lose.
