Steering Rack Required.

Hi Guys, Don't suppose any of you have an old steering rack laying around that you don't need and would like to sell me?

Doesn't need to be in good condition as I only require the aluminium body part. Required for 98 model 4.5.

You tried the breakers? Douglas Valley, Bell Hill?
What about the factory? They must have at least one in stock?

Whats wrong with the old one? Try Power Steering Services in Greenwich, they can work wonders with racks.

The casing has split and don't want to weld it.

If I could get old worn out unit then I can use the casing only to repair. Just an idea before I jump in and spend nearly £600 on a recon unit.

Tried BellHill and they only have the recon units.

I am sure it could be repaired. You could even have it NDT'd if you wanted. I had a quote from Power Steering Services for £150 for a recon unit with a 12month warranty.
