Well all, its been to tvr dealer for repair estimate through insurance
roughly 12k
And believe it or not "THEY ARE GOING AHEAD WITH IT"
YIPEEEEEEEEE
No chassis damage, just front end, lights, radiator, oil cooler, suspension, and a full paint! now i can have my light conversion and clear lamps.
I would prefer that than end up with a cheque and have to go out and have a look at some more, mine has loads spent on it recently, adjustable avos, new wheels and toyos, austec chip, full sounds and sub etc, and it all adds up.

Who are you insured with? When things go that wrong it is nice to know who treats you right and who doesn't. It isn't always the cheapest quote that is the best.

a company called classicline, ive been with them about 8 year and never had to make a claim, up to now it looks very fast and efficient service

Strange how those quotes are almost always just under the write off value. A cynic might even think the repair shops were milking the insurers. I bent my Chim in almost the same place a few years ago, and the same thing happened. IIRC Balistic Bannana was having similar work done on his car at about the same time but was paying for it himself ... and :gulp: it was significantly less expensive for him!

I think the minute they here the insurance is paying, they bang the price up! Thats why our premiums are enormous, but i dont mind paying high premiums if the service is reflective

It shouldn’t if the insurance repair it, Cat D is where the insurance write the car off as uneconomical repair.

I asked the insurers this and they said the car is not a write off, so it wont be categorised!

That might be true, could get a contracted repair done, they pay you and you take it to be fixed, know of people doing very well out of that.

So who is the dealer who is charging such extortionate rates? I think that 12k price is frankly a joke.

As soon as the words 'insurance claim' are offered up, the price seems to go through the roof.

Leebus, good news! 12 is a little steep!!!! thats like probably 70% of the value of the car????!!!!!!
Pretty amazing the insurance let it through, btw which company is doing the bodywork?

PS. Just so you chaps know, insurance companies DO browse these forums on a regular basis!
