Port cylinder heads
Re build oil pump assembly
Does anyone know the advantage of having the two optional items done on the quote.
Is the oil pump something you have done, if your own is knackered ?
Sorry for the ignorance

Hi Ash, what's involved in "port cylinder heads" & why ?
When they port cylinder heads, in the most basic terms, its for intake air flow and exhaust gas flow, effectively re-profiling/rubbing/smoothing/(welding in some cases)/widening (slight in some cases)/removing restrictions through-out the ports, especially the short-side turns. Optimizing the volume capacity internally in the heads (ie slowing down, speeding up the a flow) is also part of the work (but usually this kind of work is done properly by seriously equipped flow specialists)... All the work should be intended to keep flow seperation optimized, remember, our cerbies use high-lift cams, which can limit the engine to a certain degree if the flowing is not optimal, an exceptional race-engine head-specialist can yield GREAT results in this area, just like the top tuners have done for the RV8's. So make sure you find the right company to do this!
Head specialists aiming to do the bring the best results also work on the port bowls and chamber modifications as well as valve/valve guides/valve-seat mods, all in, these mods with a good remap after can assist in producing more torque/power throughout the rev-range and help reduce flatspots or in some cases totally remove them altogether.
Other mods: Some 'pros' also do what they call vortex liners for the intake ports, but this is pretty much a custom job and can cost a lot of money, the usual is just the regular trumpets (like the old Ferrari V12's)
Basically, the engine is a BIG feck-off air-pump, nostrils on one side, and a buttcrack on the other - lets try speeding up the pump and push more air through (measured in CFM's)
