Old style headlight trims

I'm thinking of making some perspex covers for my 'big' headlights, and to do this I'll need to make a mould using the trims that suround them.

Rather than destroy my own, I thought I'd destroy yours.

Does anyome have a spare set they could donate? I figure quite a few of you have gone for the little headlights with various conversions (speed 12 etc.) so there must be some just kicking round being used as doorstops.

Before going to the trouble, have you tried seeing if the lights and covers from a Griff will fit?

Are you looking to have an "aerodynamic" look to the cover, or just to protect the glass?

I think I rememebr seeing the old Christopher Neil advert with the white cerbera had perspex covers on already .. the factory might have some moulds kicking around the development hut for them .. have you tried calling the factory? it might save you a bit of hassle.

The factory will almost certainly have moulds .... and perspex covers. After all, they're going to be the same as the run-out Chimaera covers aren't they?

am sure that the chim ones are a different size.

Yes I think the Cerb is quite different overall shape where it sits into the body. Even the late Chimaera style were not a simple change for old Chim's, they lost the outer surround altogether and think there was therefore some bodywork changes brought in to bring it forward a a bit to cover over top of light housing and then a flush butt up to the perspex.

Been thinking about this for a while too. I have actually seen these perspex covers on Cerb once after I clicked on a profile from a thread, but it was ages ago I'll do a bit of digging to see if I can find him, might save you some time, effort and cash

Thanks for all the replies guys! Joo, I'll check with the factory, as yes, their race cars had these covers.

One of the guys on here (Thomas) in Germany made his and they look quite good.

I'm just doing it to be different really, no other reason.
